The 1906 $10 Liberty Head Eagle represents one of the final regular-issue dates of the long-running Coronet eagle series, a design that had been in continuous use since 1838. Struck during a period of economic stability and high gold production, the issue reflects the mature phase of the series, when minting technology and output were both well established.
This example is certified NGC AU-58, a grade that captures the appeal of a lightly circulated coin with much of its original detail intact. According to NGC population data, 123 examples have been graded at the AU-58 level, with 1,528 certified in finer condition.
Liberty Head eagles of this era were widely used in commerce and banking, making attractive near–Mint State pieces increasingly desirable today.
