The 1908 Indian Head Eagle with IN GOD WE TRUST is the first version of Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ ten-dollar gold design to carry the motto on the reverse. Introduced after the earlier No Motto coins, it completed the composition by adding the phrase next to the eagle while preserving the striking treatment of Liberty’s portrait with Indian headdress and the standing eagle.
Graded PCGS MS-65+, this coin displays vibrant honey-gold surfaces with smooth, satiny luster. While the 1908 With Motto issue had a decent mintage (341,370), examples that combine strong strike, original color, and minimal distractions at the MS-65+ level are rarities and eagerly sought by serious collectors.
