Examples graded MS-66 by PCGS display sharp, well-executed strikes with Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ soaring Liberty and eagle designs rendered in crisp detail. The surfaces typically show booming cartwheel luster with light golden-orange color and only the faintest contact marks visible under magnification. The typical 1927 is noticeably cleaner and more lustrous than most dates from the 1922–1928 series.
