This is the variety listed by Mike Locke (CalGoldCoin.com) as 1857 Indian #4 under Wreath #5 — slender laurel wreath with paired leaves/berries, “CALIFORNIA” above and “* GOLD *” below, date in the center, with the distinctive letter “B” under the Indian head and 15 stars. The octagonal shape and ~11 mm diameter places it in the typical half-size range for these tokens. As with your other “B” piece, the letter is a private die/maker’s mark. These are private California jeweler souvenir tokens (often gilt or low-fineness gold).
