The 1880-O Morgan Silver Dollar was struck at the New Orleans Mint, a facility that produced far fewer Morgans than Philadelphia or San Francisco that year, with a mintage of about 5.3 million pieces. PCGS has graded 1,836 as MS61 with 9,45 finer.
The “O” mint mark sits below the wreath on the reverse. Coins from this issue are known for generally soft strikes and heavy bag marks, typical of New Orleans production during the early 1880s.
