1847-C $2.50 Liberty Head Quarter Eagle PCGS AU-50
This marvelous specimen from the fabled Charlotte mint last appeared for sale at a Heritage July 2025 Summer FUN Sale as lot 3754, where it brought $4,080 and was described as "...Winter-1. Original olive-gold patina with coppery-amber overtones in the recesses overlay distraction-free surfaces. The 1847-C is the most available Charlotte quarter eagle issue, with possibly more than 450 pieces extant. It is also one of the best-struck overall, a characteristic which is showcased by the present example, which is only slightly weak on the high points of the design. As you can see it has a pretty good provenance as well!
