1849 Mormon $5 Uniface Copper Reverse Pattern, K-3a as a Restrike. The best we've seen is Choice Mint State grades - this GEM is an absolute breath of fresh air-! The rich orange-brown surfaces enjoy lively luster and splashes of original orange mostly retained in the protected areas. There are pockets of a silver-blue reflectivity throughout. It is boldly struck with exquisite eye appeal; the miter is boldly textured and the all-seeing eye is flawless in appearance. If contemporary to the gold issues, this piece was painstakingly produced on a perfect planchet with perfect rims. An intriguing item, actually rarer as the gold issues of the same denomination, and worth consideration by Pioneer-Territorial gold collectors and specialists.
