Token - 1883-Dated California Miner w/Pick "H" Round Gold Charm NGC MS66PL
Distinctive gold charm from the Old West. Here's a more affordable example for the California Fractional Gold enthusiast. Even though the NGC holder claims this piece to be a "Q" variety, it is indeed an "H." Even though this piece appears on the NGC "Q" Census, reviewing the correct ("H") Census tells us that there is only one graded finer in PL (MS67PL).

The obverse presents a gold miner on his knees facing left. His pick is raised and he is about to crack the ore rock with it. In front of him are gold nuggets or ore rocks with gold veins. The setting is a gold mine. These images are found within a circle, outside of which appears to be a series of clouds. The date 1883 is at the bottom. The reverse has a wreath with berries that is open at the top. The wreath is tied neatly at the bottom. A large 'H' is within the wreath, above 'CAL/GOLD/CHARM.'
