A magnificent example struck in the highest quality and care, believed crafted by Ephesus in 71AD. The details are exquisite. The obverse features IMPERATOR T CAESAR AVGVSTI F with the bare head of Titus facing right. The reverse features CONCORDIA – AVG with Ceres, veiled and seated, facing left on a throne, holding two wheat ears and poppy in the right hand and a cornucopiae in the left. In the reverse exergue, we see the monogram EPHE. RIC Vespasian 1438. CBN Vespasian 359. RPC 837 (3 specimens listed). Rare. Wonderful old cabinet tone and very choice extremely fine.
