Token - 1853-Dated California Gold Token, 3 Lines Type NGC MS65

Here’s a striking example to include in your collection. The obverse of this round gold token features a well-crafted, attractive Indian Head facing to the left. Surrounding the Indian are thirteen stars that represent our original thirteen states (and former British colonies). The date 1853 is found below at the rim. The reverse presents a well-designed wreath with berries, within which is found, in large letters, ‘CALIFORNIA GOLD.’ This beauty is graded MS65 by NGC.
