Constantius II (337-361 CE). AR heavy siliqua. Sirmium mint, 351-355 CE. Obverse: D N ONSTANTIVS P F AVG, pearl-diademed, draped and cuirassed bust of Constantius II facing to right. Reverse: VOTIS XXX MVLTIS XXXX in four lines within wreath, with SIRM in exergue. RIC 17. RSC 342. This dramatic ancient work of numismatic art was struck on an extremely broad flan from dies of highly refined style, and adorned with attractive multi-colored patina on both sides. Dramatic flan crack from the middle of coin down to rim at 6:00 is visible on both sides.
