C. Poblicius Q.f. AR Denarius Serratus (4.09 gms), struck at the Rome Mint, circa 80 B.C. The obverse features the draped bust of Roma facing right, wearing a plumed helmet; behind, ROMA downwards; above, control-mark (S). Border of dots.
The reverse features Hercules strangling a Nemean lion with a club to the left and a bow and quiver to the right, both at his feet. C.POBLICI.Q.F is upwards; above, control-mark (S). Border of dots. A lovely well struck and lustrous example with very attractive toning.
