Aeolis. Cyme. Silver tetradrachm (16.37 gm). Struck at Aeolis, Cyme, c.150-145 BC. The obverse features the head of Amazon Cyme facing right, wearing taenia. The reverse features the legend ΚΥΜΑΙΩΝ, with a bridled horse standing and facing to the right, raising a right foreleg above a one-handled cup, the with moneyer's name ΜΗΤΡΟΦΑΝΗΣ in exergue, all within laurel wreath. This is the ANSMN 27 variety.
A superb golden-yellow gray specimen with plenty of mint luster showing through the old toning. Very well centered.
