Obverse: ΣYPA, head of Heracles facing left, wearing lion skin headdress, paws tied around neck; linear border. Reverse: Σ-Y/P-A, quadripartite incuse square; small head of Arethusa facing left in central incuse circle. References: HGC 2, 1289. SNG ANS 351-4. Bérend pl. XI, 3. Boehringer pl. I, 6. Rizzo pl. XLVIII, 7. Sparkling example. Crisp and meticulously detailed. Bright flan with considerable luster. An especially attractive example of this fractional issue.
