Nero Caesar & Drusus Caesar. Died AD 31 and 33, respectively. Æ Dupondius (29.5mm, 16.04g). Rome mint. Struck under Gaius (Caligula), AD 37-38. The obverse features Nero and Drusus Caesar on horseback riding right, cloaks flying behind them, with NERO ET DRVSVS CAESARES around. The reverse features legend C CAESAR DIVI AVG PRON AVG P M TRT III around large S • C. This is an unusual reverse variety as all other examples of the RIC 34 Dupondius coins have the legend C CAESAR AVG GERMANICVS PON M TR POT.
This coin displays a pleasing chocolate brown obverse without any major marks or eyesores. Tough to find this nice as we've seen about a dozen and all are of quite inferior quality.
