Here’s a very attractive piece to add to your collection, with its splashes of iridescent colors on both sides! NGC has graded 373 as MS68 with only 7 finer. Collector’s Universe prices this issue at $825.00 in MS68.
NGC Coin Explorer writes, “This issue was widely hoarded, and Mint State survivors are quite plentiful. For some reason, 1945-S dimes are among the ones most often seen with splendid, multicolor toning. Gems are readily available, yet the percentage of fully struck [with Full Bands] survivors is extremely small.”
In its grade of MS68, it is near the very top of graded coins at NGC, out of a massive mintage of 41,920,000!
