An uncommonly sharp strike for the issue includes virtually full definition to the central obverse and reverse high points. Lightly toned on the obverse; somewhat more so at the lower half of the reverse. One of the rarer middle date Walking Liberty half dollars, the 1937-S is more challenging to collect in Mint State than the 1936-D, 1939-D, 1939-S and 1940-S, not to mention all Philadelphia Mint issues from 1934 to 1940. This is one of the finest examples known to PCGS, a beautiful Superb Gem that would do justice to an advanced collection of this popular 20th century series.
The average of the ten appearances for a PCGS MS67 issue since 2018 is $4,102. The present PCGS population shows 65 coins with 17 finer (all MS67+).
