David Hall writes, “The 1936-S is scarce in mint state and Gem condition and somewhat underrated. While not as rare as the S-Mints that proceed it, this issue is rarer than all the S-Mints that follow including the somewhat more highly regarded 1937-S. Strike is usually decent on this issue and frosty white luster is prevalent.”
