The iconic designs upon this masterpiece are the result of the creative collaboration between Saint-Gaudens and President Theodore Roosevelt, who sought out the artist to redesign a few issues of American gold coinage. PCGS has graded 31,994 examples of the 1927 Saint as MS65 with 8,557 finer. In CAC, there are 1,816 specimens that carry the desirable green label, with 625 finer. CAC prices this issue at $3,500.00 in MS65.
