Wouldn’t this attractive piece look great in your collection? Jeff Garrett writes of this issue, "Despite the continuance of World War I, the production for the Indian Head Quarter Eagle actually increased somewhat from the year before. The date is quite common in all grades below the Gem level and can be found with little difficulty."
PCGS has graded 1,545 examples of this issue as MS63 with 1,342 finer. Collectors Universe gives the 1915 $2.50 a price of $1,500.00 in MS63.
David Akers writes, “The 1915 is typically well struck … (I have seen some radiant examples of the 1915 and some subdued ones but most have good lustre.) Some specimens show a little granularity to the surfaces but it is less pronounced than it is on most early issues. Color is generally good, usually a light to medium yellow gold, often with some coppery highlights.”
