1914-D $10 Indian Head Eagle PCGS MS63

Take a careful look at this attractive offering from AUCM—at a price that won’t break the bank. PCGS has graded 736 as MS63 with 434 finer. Collectors Universe gives this issue a price of $3,500.00 in MS63.

David Akers writes, “The 1914-D is always fully frosty and very sharply struck. The surfaces have a trace of fine granularity but it is not generally as noticeable as it is on the other Denver Mint issues or even most Philadelphia Mint issues in the series. Lustre is usually good to very good and on the rarest of occasions … exceptional.”

Jeff Garrett writes, "Like its Philadelphia cousin, this date is generally well struck and lustrous. While most were melted, enough examples survived to go around for collectors today, including several in gem Mint State grades....It is likely that a significant number of the survivors traveled from Denver to eastern banks. From the banks of the east coast, these coins were soon sent over to Europe to wait out World War I, subsequent depression, and the next world war before returning to these shores."
