1912 $2.50 Indian Head Quarter Eagle NGC MS63 (CAC)
“This is undoubtedly one of the more underrated issues of this series”—David Akers
Here is an attractive piece, one that you would be proud to own. NGC has graded 1,184 as MS63 with 854 finer. Collector’s Universe prices this issue at $2,250.00 in MS63. In CAC, there are 124 in MS63 with 168 finer. CAC gives this issue a price of $2,400.00 in MS63.
Continues Akers, “The 1912 is generally more sharply [struck] than the 1911 …The color is typically a greenish orange color although brilliant light-yellow gold examples also exist.”
Jeff Garrett writes, "As can be seen from the rather high mintage figure for the date, the issue is rather common in circulated condition and the lower Mint State grades....The 1912 Quarter Eagle is somewhat scarce in Choice (MS 63) and becomes very rare at the Gem level."
