1912 $2.50 Indian Head Quarter Eagle PCGS AU58 (CAC)
Here’s a desirable piece to add to your collection—at a better price. It would be a great gold type coin. Please take a look at the photos provided. Jeff Garrett writes, "As can be seen from the rather high mintage figure for the date, the issue is rather common in circulated condition and the lower Mint State grades.... The 1912 Quarter Eagle is somewhat scarce in Choice (MS 63) and becomes very rare at the Gem level."
PCGS has graded 1,211 as AU58 with 4,191 finer. Collectors Universe prices this issue at $600.00 in AU58. In CAC, there are 37 in AU58 with 360 finer. CAC gives this issue a price of $700.00 in AU58. “This is undoubtedly one of the more underrated issues of this series,” writes David Akers.
