Here is an attractive piece to add to your collection. It is also quite affordable. Gold specialist David Akers tells us, "The 1909-D is usually well struck (as are most Denver Mint gold coins) and they are seen both satiny (uncommon) and with a 'soft' frosty finish. The lustre for this issue is good to very good....Color is wide ranging from coppery gold to greenish gold to bright yellow."
NGC has graded 8,715 as MS63 with 3,403 finer. Collectors Universe gives this issue a price of $1,550.00 in MS63. In CAC, there are 1,203 in MS63 with 666 finer.
