1904-O $1 Morgan Silver Dollar PCGS MS67
At one time the 1904-O was considered to be a great rarity, with examples—if any could be found—fetching top dollar. Then bags of that issue were discovered and sold during the Great Treasury Release of 1962-64—and the price dropped down to realistic levels. Today in the 21st century 1904-O Morgan dollars are among the most commonly found dates of that ever-popular series. An interesting historical fact is that this issue was the last silver dollar ever produced at the New Orleans Mint. That historic mint closed its doors after producing coinage in 1909. It is now the ‘New Orleans Jazz Museum at the Old U.S. Mint.’
Even though this issue is very common today, it is being offered by AUCM in a very high grade. There have been 138,906 examples of the 1904-O Morgan dollar graded by PCGS. However, there are only 95 of them that carry the superior grade of PCGS MS67—with a mere seven finer. If you enjoy collecting high-grade Morgan dollars, then this offering may be perfect to add to your numismatic holdings.
