1898 $1 Morgan Silver Dollar NGC PR65DCAM (CAC)
George T. Morgan's numismatic masterpiece is stunning in a proof deep cameo. Just look at the dramatic images of this offering from AUCM. The 1898—with a mintage of only 735—is one of the best-struck proof issues in the entire Morgan dollar series. This is evidenced by the significant amount of examples that have been designated Cameo and Deep/Ultra Cameo by NGC and PCGS. This specimen displays a bold strike and frosty devices, with deeply mirrored fields that produce a dramatic cameo contrast. In other words, it is simply breathtaking!
NGC has graded 12 as PR65UCAM with 38 finer. Collectors Universe gives this issue a price of $14,750.00 in PR65UCAM. In CAC there are 7 pieces in PR65UCAM with 11 finer. CAC prices this issue at $14,400.00 in PR65UCAM.
