1892-O $1 Morgan Silver Dollar PCGS MS62
Here’s an affordable example in the ever-popular Morgan dollar series to include in your collection. It was in 1892 that the New Orleans Mint produced over 2.7 million Morgan dollars. Much of that mintage either went directly into circulation or was eventually melted, resulting in fewer survivors in higher grades than in other years.
Additionally, this issue was not well represented in the Treasury releases of the 1960s, which has made it even more difficult to locate. However, this coin is still generally available in grades up to and including MS64. Gem or higher coins are much more difficult to locate. PCGS has graded 1,481 as MS62 with 6,321 finer. Collectors Universe prices this issue at $675.00 in MS62.
