1891-CC $10 Liberty Head Eagle NGC AU58
Here is a relic from the historic Carson City Mint, one that you will cherish for many years to come. It was struck only two years before the mint in Nevada was shut down in 1893, ending the tenure of a historic and romantic period of American numismatics. NGC has graded 626 as AU58 with 1,595 finer. Collector’s Universe prices this issue at $3,750.00 in AU58.
The 1891-CC ten had a mintage of 103,732—the highest mintage of any gold eagle at that historic mint. This piece would be perfect for the aficionado of the Old West or the Carson City Mint. Many of this issue circulated in the Old West, however a significant number of uncirculated pieces were shipped to Europe, and have been returning to the United States over the years.
