1891-CC $10 Liberty Head Eagle PCGS XF45 (CAC)
NEW LOWER PRICE (12/15)
The 1891-CC gold eagle had the highest mintage at the Carson City Mint of the tens with 103,732 total pieces. However, many circulated in the Old West, for Westerners simply refused to utilize paper money in daily commerce. Many others of this issue spent time in bags traveling to and from Europe, which resulted in bag marks and grades in the MS61-MS62 range.
This attractive example displays honest wear from circulating in the Old West, making it a true artifact of those historic times. PCGS has graded 161 in XF45 with 2,942 finer. Collector’s Universe gives this issue a price of $2,600.00 in XF45. In CAC, there are 8 in XF45 with 374 finer.
