1889-CC $1 Morgan Silver Dollar PCGS VF25 (CAC)
The 1889-CC Morgan dollar is a true demand rarity. It is a key date in the series and the key date in the Carson City sub-set of silver dollars. From a small mintage of 350,000 pieces, the 1889-CC is the rarest Morgan dollar that emanated from the legendary Carson City Mint.
NGC Coin Explorer writes, “Unfortunately, it seems that a majority of [the 1889-CC dollars] eventually made their way to the melting pot, making [them] even rarer than the low mintage suggests.” Only even wear is displayed on the design elements of this Choice VF example offered by AUCM. This coin would be a delightful addition to a fine collection of Morgan dollars.
PCGS has graded 718 as VF25 with 4,724 finer. Collectors Universe prices this rare issue at $2,500.00 in VF25. In CAC, there are 71 in VF25 with 373 finer. CAC gives the 1889-CC Morgan dollar a price of $2,590.00 in VF25.
