1882-CC $1 Morgan Silver Dollar PCGS MS63
For silver dollar collectors, the 1882-CC Morgan dollar is the perfect Carson City issue. Its mintage places it among the lower end of the entire Morgan dollar series—and much lower than the 11.1 million produced in Philadelphia that very same year. However, thanks to the GSA releases of the 1970s, possibly over half of the original mintage is in the possession of collectors today. PCGS has graded 12,808 as MS63 with 24,857 finer. Collectors Universe prices this issue at $460.00 in MS63.
The 1882-CC is one of three coins (including the 1883-CC and 1884-CC) that form a trinity of “CC” dollars that are generally well-struck and offer, according to David Bowers, "beautifully deep frosty lustre." They are the most widely available of all the Carson City silver dollars.
