1877 G$1 Indian Princess Gold Dollar PCGS PR63DCAM
Only 12 to 16 known per John Dannreuther!
Here’s an excellent opportunity to acquire a rare golden treasure from the 1870s. An 1877 proof G$1 in Deep Cameo is a beautiful coin to behold. The Mint struck only 20 gold dollar proofs in 1877, and, according to John Dannreuther, only 12 to 16 examples exist today. Writes Heritage Auctions in the August 2022 listing of this coin: “This Select Deep Cameo specimen is nicely textured with splashes of reddish-orange color. A few light hairlines and contact marks explain the grade.”
PCGS has graded 1 as Proof 63 Deep Cameo, with 7 finer. Collectors Universe give this issue a price of $11,500.00 in its assigned grade of PR63DCAM.
