Attractive coin from our nation’s Centennial Year of 1876!

This specimen from our nation's Centennial year would make a nice type coin for your collection. If you want one very collectible Double Eagle, this may be the one. Please take a careful look at the photos provided by AU Capital Management.

David Akers writes, “The 1876-S is one of the commonest of all S-Mint Liberty Head Double Eagles and it is easy to obtain in any grade from VF to average uncirculated (Unc-60). In choice mint state, however, it is very scarce and in MS-65 or better condition it is decidedly rare.” NGC has graded 2,698 as AU58 with 2,508 finer. Collector’s Universe prices this issue at $3,000.00 in AU58.
