1874-CC 10C Liberty Seated Dime, Arrows At Date PCGS AU53

Here it is. The one dime that many collectors only dream of possessing. The Brian Greer series reference, The Complete Guide to Liberty Seated Dimes, states that this issue is the "unquestioned key to the series”—of course, with eliminating the uncollectible 1873-CC No Arrows. “Rare in any grade, and probably a full R.6 in problem-free condition.” PCGS has graded 3 as AU53 with 6 finer. In its AU53 grade, it is among the finest known.

There are very few mint state pieces surviving today. Of course, the 1874-CC Arrows is well known to Liberty Seated dime specialists who would love to obtain an example. The mintage was 10,817 examples, all of which are from a single die pair. The arrows around the date slant noticeably upward, as with all of the ‘Arrows’ issues dated 1874.
