1870-CC $1 Liberty Seated Dollar NGC AU55
The 1870 Carson City silver dollar is a great coin for numerous reasons. The most compelling, of course, is that it's the first issue produced at the storied mint in Nevada. It's also the sole CC-Mint Seated Liberty Dollar that's affordable to many collectors.
NGC has graded 28 as AU55 with 39 finer. Collectors Universe gives this rare issue a price of $11,000.00 in AU55.
Despite its small mintage of 12,462, there are fair amounts of surviving examples across all circulated grades, though mint state pieces are very rare. Those mint state examples typically display semi-prooflike fields, enough so to indicate that the mint intentionally polished the dies before each press run. Coinage was intermittent throughout 1870, which accounts for the large number of dies used for such a low mintage. Nine die marriages have been verified from the mixing of four obverses with six reverses, one of which continued on into production during 1871.
Many collectors desire to own a single example of this historic issue. And AUCM is giving you the opportunity to acquire this attractive, well-struck AU55 example graded by NGC in their exclusive Green Label holder.
