Rare first-year issue from the Carson City Mint!

Here’s a great rarity to add to your collection, one that is quite an attractive example. This piece would be the perfect addition to the collection of a specialist of Carson City Mint issues. The year 1870 was the first year of production for the Carson City Mint.

Writes Ron Guth in PCGS Coinfacts, “In its first year, mintages of every denomination were very low, creating instant rarities across the board.” Take advantage of this unique opportunity to acquire this “instant rarity”! Continues Guth, “For anyone collecting this series, the 1870-CC Half Dollar is one of the toughest of all the dates. From About Good to Extremely Fine, the 1870-CC Half Dollar is available -- for a price.”

This rare issue has a mintage of 54,617. In total, PCGS and NGC have graded only 298 original examples of the 1870-CC. Research suggests that significant numbers of this issue were sent to China in trade. PCGS has graded 7 as XF45 with 17 finer. Collectors Universe prices this rarity at $25,000.00 in XF45.
