Reverse: CALIFORNIA. * GOLD around outside of dotted circle; the initials "FD" are below. 1 DOLLAR 1855 is inside the circle.; the 5 is heavily repunched over a 4. The only trace of overdate is a corner of 4 joining the 5’s.
