Obverse: Smaller head than BG-501, BG-502, BG-503 & BG-504, 10 stars; 1st star between chin and bust point; tip of diadem points just above 4th star. Same obverse as BG-505, BG-506 & BG-507. Reverse: CALIFORNIA * GOLD * (only two large 5 pointed stars) outside of beaded circle, the initials “FD” appear below. The upper star is at 12:45 and the lower star at 5:00. 1 DOLLAR 1854 is within the beaded circle.
