1853 G$1 Liberty Head Gold Dollar PCGS MS65 (CAC)
Gold specialist David Akers writes, “The mintage indicates it and the auction data confirms it: This is far and away the most common United States gold dollar. It is readily available in all grades including gem uncirculated.” The mintage Akers refers to is 4,076,051.
PCGS has graded 222 as MS65 with 116 finer. In CAC, there are 49 that carry the grade of MS65 with 37 finer. This is a beautiful little treasure from the heady days of the California Gold Rush. This would be the perfect addition to the collection of a Gold Rush enthusiast, for this issue was crafted with California gold.
