BG- 799V, 1852 California Fractional Gold 25C, Indian Octagonal NGC MS67 R7+ - TOP POP
Simply put - this coin is amazing! Not only is this coin currenlty finest certified (by either service) by one grade point, it is a High Rarity-7, meaning that experts concluded there are approximately 4 to 6 known. The combined population and census reports would indicate a Rarity-7 (7-9 known) but we don't clearly know if any of these examples are resubmissions of the same coin. NGC has certified 4 in all grades - this MS67DPL, a MS67, a MS66, a MS65PL and a MS65. PCGS has recorded 10 submissions, the finest being a MS66+DPL (now 67DPL?). We also can definitely say this is NOT the NGC MS66PL coin sold by Heritage in June of 2018 (Lot #4310), even though a MS66PL does not appear on the NGC Census any longer.
