In his monumental work on the S.S. Central America, David Bowers shows us that only one (1) 1845 $2.50 Liberty Quarter Eagle was brought up from the first recovery effort back in 1999. Fast-forward to 2020, and we see the second recovery can account for two (2) more coins bringing the total to three. This coin, of course, is the only coin available in the original gold foil insert. Also, it is the highest graded, as the other two are XF40 and VF. CAC Endorsed.
