1799 $1 AU53 PCGS. 7x6 Stars, B-9, BB-166, R.1. The Draped Bust dollars of 1799 enjoyed the largest mintage of the series at 423,515 pieces. The BB-166 variety is an available issue in the context of the series, but most examples seen are in VF or lower grades. AU53 specimens are scarce. The present coin is an attractive specimen, with minimal wear on the design elements and much remaining luster in the fields.
