France. Robert d´Anjou, Sol coronat (1309-1343). Avignon Mint. PCGS has graded one example as AU55 with none finer. The obverse presents a crown decorated with fleur-de-lis, adorned with small clovers. A beaded border surrounds the crown motif. The lettering around the rim is: ✠ R' ⵓ IH'R ⵓ ET ⵓ SICIL' ⵓ REX (Robert, King of Jerusalem and Sicily). Upon the reverse is found a Fleurdelisée cross intersecting the legend, surrounded by four lilies. A beaded border surrounds that device. The lettering around the rim is: ✠ COMES • PVLNCIE (County of Provence). Duplessy-165; PA-3988; Dy feodales-1651; SCMF-5961; Rolland 56-59.
